May Day in Norway

Today is the first of May and a national holiday here in Norway! Growing up I remember occasionally being wished a Happy May Day, though we never did anything special on that day in school or at home.  All I really knew about May Day was that it was celebration related to the changing of seasons, and somewhere at some point in history communities would gather dressed in nice Easter-like clothing and play games and dancing around a May Pole.  There were ribbons, flower crowns and a even a May Queen.
